Horses for Healing staff are friendly, supportive, encouraging and focused on providing a positive experience in a relaxed atmosphere.

Betty P. Kjera, Ph.D., LPC has been practicing in the mental health field for over thirty years. Through Equine Assisted Therapy, she has combined her interest in horses with therapeutic work. A specialty focus and passion for Dr. Kjera is working with individuals of any age who have experienced physical, emotional or sexual abuse. In addition she works closely with agencies and families treating youthful offenders.

Pam Hecht is a licensed practical nurse and a recognized multi-discipline equine professional, with extensive experience in equestrian education and training. Her years of experience training horses and teaching riding has given her a unique perspective, allowing for the maximization of the relationship between human and animal that Equine Assisted Therapy promises. Pam has a gift of instilling confidence in her clients with a friendly, upbeat manner that makes everyone feel at home.

Sawyer Brown has been the resident therapist for over 10 years and provides a unique and honest perspective of all of our equine assisted activities.
